The historic downtown area which has recently
renovated with its brick streets, boasts a unique hometown shopping
experience.You'll find antique shops, arts and crafts, gift
shops and quaint ice cream parlors all along main street. The town has had a long and colorful history from the prehistoric burial grounds of the Potawotomi Indian Tribe to the The P.T. Barnum Circus, "The Greatest Show On Earth," being founded here in 1871.
Also Lake Delavan is home
to four of Frank Lloyd Wright's architectural gems such as the Fred B. Jones
Estate with its four buildings now restored to it's original
condition.

The forest also offers opportunities for swimming at two beaches, picnicking, hunting, fishing, nature programs and touring historic cabin sites.
Part of the 1000 mile Ice Age Trail is located there too.
